Understanding Your Health Insurance Options

Sourcewise provides you access to the Santa Clara County Health Insurance Counseling & Advocacy Program (HICAP). State-certified counselors offer information and unbiased guidance to ensure that you are well informed to choose the right Medicare options for you and your loved ones.

Currently, the Sourcewise HICAP is offering a series of educational courses at the Morgan Hill Community & Cultural Center. These courses will help you navigate topics including: upcoming changes to Medicare in 2016, choosing the right prescription coverage, whether long term care is a viable option, and Medicare savings programs.

If you are a current beneficiary of Medicare, are about to sign up, or are caring for someone who has Medicare, this informational series may benefit you. Medical providers are also welcome to attend.

The series began in August and will continue through December. Remaining courses available are:

  • October 2, 2015: Changes to Medicare in 2016 – Annual Enrollment Period
  • October 16, 2015 and December 4, 2015: Part D Prescription Drug Coverage. This “hands on” class allows you to compare costs of your current prescription plan against other options. Bring your prescriptions!
  • November 20, 2015: Medicare Savings Programs (Offered in English and Spanish)

The Morgan Hill Community & Cultural Center is located at 17000 Monterey Street, Morgan Hill, CA, 95037. All classes will be held in the El Toro Room. Classes in English are from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. while Spanish classes are from 1 p.m. – 3 p.m. Registration is preferred. Classes are free.
